About the Award

What are the Soul-Bride Awards?

The Soul-Bridge Body-Mind-Spirit Book Awards and Spiritual&Fantasay Art Contest was founded by Dolphin Dream Ltd. This is an international book and art contest based in the center of Europe, in Hungary, where the spiritual awareness and openness to Body-Mind-Spirit themes are highly evolved. The full bios of the contest founders are available on the web-site (provide link). The Soul-Bridge Awards recognize authors from all backgrounds and genres in many categories in the field of Body-Mind-Spirit literature. The Contest provides the opportunity for authors to celebrate the achievement of releasing their book. Meanwhile Soul-Bridge Awards give artists a great opportunity to present their unique works in the field of spiritual and fantasy art in different categories.

Receiving a Soul-Bridge Award as an author or as an artist is a tremendous honor that reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment that went into creating a book and a special piece of art. Books and artworks that will receive a Soul-Bridge Award as a winner, finalist, honorable mention or the winner of our People’s Choice Award will certainly become more widely recognized for their high quality design, unique expression, writing and overall market appeal.

Why should I enter the Soul-Bride Awards?

The Soul-Bride Awards offer many benefits including:

  • Building your credibility as an author and as an artist
  • Increasing your book’s and artworks’ visibility on a global platform
  • You can also promote your own title as an Award-Winning book recognized in Europe, which means that as an honored winner, finalist or honorable mention you will have the right to highlight your award on your book cover, website, and marketing material.
  • Establishing yourself as an expert in your field
  • Soul-Bridge Awards are designed not only for spiritual purposes, but also as a promotional vehicle for authors and publishers. It is the intent that these awards help launch careers, open global markets and create the opportunity for talented authors and publishers throughout the world to meet each other.

When is the next competition opening?

The next book award and art contest will launch 10 June 2018 and ends on 31 December 2018.

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to apply is December 31, 2018. Late entries will be automatically entered in the 2019 Soul-Bridge Awards Competition, if all eligibility requirements have been met. No entries will be refunded.

 

When will the Winners and Finalists be announced?

Grand Prize Winners, Winners, Finalists and Honorable mentions of each category will be announced around the end of January or mid February 2019.

What can I know about the judges?

We have a pool of judges that we regularly call upon. We also like to add new ones.

We do not publish the names of the judges to respect their privacy, but we assure that they are all deeply familiar with, and experts in, spiritual literature and art. You can read more about the fundamental principles of the judging here: https://soulbridgeawards.com/judging/

The main guideline is that the submitted works will be judged by the following criteria: https://soulbridgeawards.com/judging/

General excellence and the author’s passion for telling a good story and expressing his or her ideas on the topic. The uniqueness of the spiritual message, wisdom of the teachings or the power of the presented healing tool. The layout, illustration and quality of the book. And of course the potential of the work to gain a wider audience in the worldwide market is also important.

Considering the Soul-Bridge Art Contest there are no rigid and precise rules about how a contest is to designate its winners.

Art especially is the most subjective field where one can base an opinion on feelings, the impression it leaves within, the inner thinking and imagination it provokes or the way it transports to other invisible or imaginary landscapes. But our judges will also consider the way the artists applied their technique, how genuine and authentic their “voice” is, how delicate the artistic expression, and how the message comes through the image.

What if my category is not represented?

We will decide which categories will be represented once we have received all the entries. We would like to note that we can announce winners in those categories only in which at least 2 or 3 titles have been subscribed. So we may need to re-categorize your book to give your book a place in the competition.

Please don’t worry though, your book will be judged on its own merit and the in correct category. We may not be able to represent ALL listed categories to give prizes to as it depends greatly on the quality and quantity of entries received. If your book is in a category that is not represented in the final line-up please be assured that it was not at a disadvantage at all and was judged in the category it was entered under.

Will the judges read and consider all the entries?

While every entry is given careful consideration our judges themselves cannot read all the books entered. We have experienced readers assisting our judges so you can be sure that each book has been carefully considered.

For the Art Contest our judges will consider, see and analyze each artwork entered and in this line of the Soul-Bridge Awards there is a Public Vote as well, so your greatest judge will be the wider public responding with similar interest and a sensitive openness for spiritual and fantasy art. That is why winning our People’s Choice Award is a tremendous honor.

Will you comment on my entry?

Feedback is not a service that we offer.

Can I get certificates, stickers and digital badges as a winner of the competition?

Yes, as an honored winner, finalist or honorable mention you will have the right to highlight your award on your book cover, website and marketing material. Thus Award Certificates, Stickers and beautiful Digital Seals for use in promoting your win will be available for purchase for all honorees in each category after the announcement of the winners (end of January 2019)!

Because of the anticipated high volume of entries, we can only respond to e-mail inquiries. But in case we cannot solve your problem otherwise, please send us an e-mail at soulbridgeawards@gmail.com including your name, e-mail address and phone number. One of the members of the Soul-Bridge Awards team will contact you to set up an appointment by phone.

 

Entering the Awards

 

Who is eligible to apply to the Soul-Bridge BMS Book Awards?

We accept entries from authors that have written and/or published a book and/or from publishers on behalf of their authors. All books submitted to the Book Excellence Awards must meet the following guidelines: (1) Have an ISBN, (2) Be written in English.

We accept print books, e-books. Galley copies are not accepted. Please note: Once a book is submitted to the Soul-Bridge Awards, it will not be returned.

 

Is my unpublished manuscript eligible?

We do not accept unpublished books for the Book Award.

How do I nominate my book and artwork?

Who can enter the competition?

Soul-Bridge BMS Book Award is open for self-published authors, independent publishers, BMS publisher companies from Europe, USA, Mexico, South America, Australia, Asia, Russia, Japan and from all over the world are welcome and appreciated if they wish to become recognized in Europe.

To begin, we are only accepting books written and published in English.

Soul-Bridge Spiritual&Fantasy Art Contest is open for artists from all over the world from the age of 18, creating digital art or applying different classical techniques like oil painting, tempera painting, watercolor etc. on canvas or on board. We celebrate diversity and uniqueness in expressing your visions and thoughts.

When will the winners be announced?

We aim to announce winners at the end of January or mid February 2019. However, it does depend very much on the amount of entries.

How do I find out who has won?

Our Grand Prize Winners, Winners, Finalists, Honorable mentions in each categories will be announced on our website. We will notify the winning entries by e-mail after the date for submissions is closed for the year and the judging is complete.

Is it a criteria of entering the Art Contest that I am a professional and educated artist?

You don’t have to be an art school candidate to enter or win our competition. You can be self-educated and one who just follows the inner inspiration and passion to express your visions! But naturally you can be a professional as well.

How much does it cost to enter?

As we are international we accept several different currencies, but as we are based in Hungary we do not accept cheques. All payments should be made through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account – you just need to have your credit or debit card to complete the transaction.

1.) Entry fee for the Book Award is $68 per title/per category. You can choose to enter you book in more categories, in this case the price is $60 per title / category.

2.) In the Art Contest you can choose from three packages considering how many artworks you wish to enter the competition.

  • You can enter our special Art Competition with only 1 picture for $30 entry fee
  • You can enter with 5 different pieces of art for $65
  • Or you can enter with 8 different images for $90.

Will it arrive in time?

If your book is postmarked by the closing date then your entry will be accepted.

NOTE: In case you are sending your parcel to Europe from outside Europe (from USA, Canada, South America, Mexico, Australia, China etc.) your package will go through customs control so it can take a longer time to arrive. Please read and follow these instructions for the safety of your parcel and to reduce arrival delay:

  1. If you are sending your book from the United States or from other countries outside EU use a USPS Priority Mail International Padded Flat Rate Envelope or if you have a bigger book a Flat Rate Box. It is important to be able to track your parcel, so save your tracking number.
  1. If your book is being sent from a European country other than Hungary, use a mailing method that includes a tracking number.

Under your Sender information write:

Contains: Book as Promotional Item/ Book as Business Sample

Value: Write a price $0 (You are not selling your book, it is a promotional item so actual cost is used).

  1. Complete the Packing Slip (as the part of the Entry Form) Your will receive two confirmation letters from soulbridgeawards@gmail.com with your completed Entry form and Packing slip attached as PDF files, which you should print out, sign at the bottom and place them into the padded envelope or box. This establishes that you are sending your book as an entry into the Soul-Bridge Book Awards and not on a business basis. You are not selling it to the addressee.
  2. If you haven’t received our e-mail confirming the arrival of your parcel 3-4 weeks after you have posted it and want to be sure that your package is on the way you can contact us at soulbridgeawards@gmail.com. Send your tracking number and your data so we can help by checking with the local postal and customs system.

For the Art Competition

  • in case of 1 artwork you need to upload the image or photograph of your artwork online while completing your entry form and entry process through our website.
  • in case of 5 or 8 artworks you will get your login data in e-mail after completing your payment. You have to login to our admin site and manually upload your artworks!

This has to be received before the deadline. (15 December, 2017)

Should I send a physical book or an e-book?

If your book is available as a print copy then we would prefer you send the physical copy. However, e-books are accepted and if you are worried we won’t receive your entry on time then do send an e-book. (PDF preferred)

What are the criteria for the artwork to enter?

Your submission package should contain the following:

 

  • ONE copy of at least 150-300 dpi jpg, good quality digital art image, or a high quality, clear photograph of your painting or each of your paintings submitted (oil, tempera, watercolor etc) The maximum file size for any photo uploaded to the Contest Web Site is 50MB and 3000×3000 pixels. Photos may be color or black/white and must be submitted in one of the following file formats:  JPG, or JPEG. Photo must be a single photographic image
  • A copy of your official online entry form. After the completed checkout process your artworks will be saved and will appear on the Public Vote page if you registered for it in the Entry form.

NOTE: We do not request high resolution files from you to give you the safety and to ensure you that your copyrighted artwork won’t be used for any other purposes than to present in our Art Contest, in the Public Vote platform or among the honorees. If you feel safer having your work watermarked, place your watermark on it but please try to make it discrete, not disturbing the harmony and beauty of your image or diminishing the power of your expression. We advise you to place your signature or pen name on your image so it won’t be separable from the image and it can be more identifiable.

 Where should I send my book awards entry?

Entry packages MUST include

  • one copy of the book;
  • any relevant marketing material (optional);
  • the copy of your entry fee or PayPal receipt;
  • a copy of your official Entry form
  • and Packing slip that you can complete as a part of the Entry form.

Your will receive two confirmation letters from soulbridgeawards@gmail.com with your completed Entry form and Packing slip attached as PDF files, which you should print out, sign at the bottom and place them into your parcel.

What is Packing Slip and why is it important to include the package?

In case you are sending your parcel to Europe from outside Europe (from USA, Canada, South America, Mexico, Australia, China etc.) your package will go through customs control.

As the part of the Entry Form you should complete the Packing Slip as well. Then you will receive two confirmation letters from soulbridgeawards@gmail.com with your completed Entry form and Packing slip attached as PDF files, which you should print out, sign at the bottom and place them into the padded envelope or box. This establishes that you are sending your book as an entry into the Soul-Bridge Book Awards and not on a business basis. You are not selling it to the addressee.

Hopefully this will reduce arrival delay and ensure the safety of your parcel.

It is also important to be able to track your parcel, so save your tracking number.

 

Should I send my artwork in its original physical form?

To submit your artwork in the Soul-Bridge Art Contest do not send the original artwork. Submit an at least 150-300 dpi jpg, good quality digital art image, or a high quality, clear photograph of your painting (oil, tempera, watercolor etc). You can upload your images during the process of completing your online Entry Form.

Do you mind if I watermark my artwork?

The contrarily! We do not request high resolution files from you to give you the safety and to ensure you that your copyrighted artwork won’t be used for any other purposes than to present in our Art Contest, in the Public Vote platform or among the honorees. If you feel safer having your work watermarked, place your watermark on it but please try to make it discrete, not disturbing the harmony and beauty of your image or diminishing the power of your expression. We advise you to place your signature or pen name on your image so it won’t be separable from the image and it can be more identifiable.

What happens with my copyright related to my submitted piece of art?

The copyright to any artwork submitted is retained by the submitting artist. However, you agree to grant Dolphin Dream Ltd. and Soul-Bridge Awards a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free, perpetual license to:

  1. Reproduce said art and associated textual description (in whole or in part) in print, electronic, and other media for the limited purposes which are connected to Soul-Bridge Art Contest and its’ promotion.
  2. Modify for sizing, transmission, or distribution of your submission without prior or additional consent.
  3. Use the artists’ name, likeness and biographical information in connection with the art being submitted.

By entering this Contest, each contestant consents to the use of his/her name, book or artwork in any merchandise, advertisements, educational materials or publicity carried out or produced by Dolphin-Dream Ltd. and its advertising and promotional agencies related to the Soul-Bridge book and art contest without further notice or compensation. In turn, the contestant still retains the rights to use and publish their book and artwork.

What do I receive if I win Soul-Bridge BMS Book Awards?

What do I receive if I win Soul-Bridge Spiritual&Fantasy Art Contest?

  • The Grand Prize Winner of our annual Soul-Bridge Art Contest will receive special attention in our extensive National and International Media & Industry Exposure to support their work and will be announced and presented to different publishing houses which deal mainly with Body Mind Spirit books. Thus new business relations can open for applying the artworks as book covers and illustrations or many other ways.
  • Among those who choose to register their paintings or digital images into our Public Favourite Competition the winner is selected by the vote of the viewing public. The winner is granted “The People’s Choice Award” which is a great honor and a noble success, as every artist values recognition from the public most of all. Winning our public vote will certainly boost your market and catch the attention of publishing houses and art galleries in Europe and worldwide, generating new orders for your art.
  • In addition, the names and artwork of all category winners, finalists and honorable mentions will be shown and honored on this website for one year.
  • You can also promote your own art as an Award-Winning piece of art, which means that as an honored winner, finalist or honorable mention you will have the right to highlight your award on your painting, on an exhibition, or on your website and marketing material. Certificates, Award Stickers and distinguished Digital Seals will be available for purchase for all honorees in each category. The highlight of meriting an award can open the gate for wider interest from customers with spiritual consciousness and can boost your market.

  

How can I register my artwork to the Public Vote?

During the process of completing your online Entry Form there will be a rubric to fill out to choose to register and enter your submitted artworks to our Public Vote competition.

In case you enter 5 or 8 artworks, you have to login to our site to upload your files. In this case you can choose this options on our admin site for each of the entered artworks.

 

Can I register other artworks of mine that I have not entered in the Art Contest in the Public Vote?

Participation in the People’s Choice award is only offered to our Art Contest entrants. There is not an option to submit artwork solely for this section of the contest as we would like to give the public the opportunity to choose and vote for their favourite among our entrant’s works. You do not have to pay anything additional above the entry fee to register your work for the Public Vote.

Where can I see the past winners if this award?

Will I receive confirmation that my books have been received?

After submitting your online application, you will receive a summary of the information you have submitted through an automatic reply on your registered e-mail address. Please print this and save a copy for your records. This is your confirmation that your entry has been received successfully.

If you choose to submit your application by mail, you will receive an email from a member of our team notifying you that we have received it at our office.
